Web Portfolio

Social Software Site Development:

These are examples of Social Software Sites (Blog, Wikis, Discussion Forums) that I am currently responsible for designing and maintaining under my current role as a Web Production Specialist at the American Chemical Society. I am also responsible for the Intranet, but that is a private, secure site that cannot be shared.

Current Professional Sites:

These are the public sites I work on at the American Chemical Society.

  • Chemistry.org
I perform various duties for this site including Content Management and policing the visual design to make sure that it adheres to the official Style Guide.
  • BioTECH.org
I helped develop this site including the logo. It is a bit cluttered, but there was not a lot of leeway given to fix it.

Freelance Web Development:

  • World Zen Fellowship
I am currently the default 'Webmaster' for the Worldzen website. I converted a static HTML site to a dynamic, PHP/MySQL based site. I have also slowly worked to improve what was a very eclectic design to a more consistent and appealing cohesive whole.
  • MEDPAC:
All of the work I performed on the MEDPAC site was on the backend. I was commissioned to help migrate this ColdFusion based site (both code and databases) from one service provider to another, and then to troubleshoot and solve the myriad problems that arose. It was an excellent experience in sifting through code that was both legacy and written by multiple coders.
  • MTPPI
My next freelance project will be to revamp this ASP based site.

Collaborations:

There are sites where I collaborated with others to create the final designs.

  • Printing Company Websites
    • Peake DeLancey Website
I managed and oversaw the development of this site including creative direction.
    • S&S Graphics
I managed and oversaw the development of this site including coding and creative direction, although much of the visual design was changed when the company was bought out in 1998.
    • DeLancey Printing (defunct)
When DeLancey merged with Peake, this site became defunct, but I developed and maintained it including all coding and visual design.

  • Choe's Hap Ki Do Websites:
I have done a lot of design work for this institution over the last twelve years, most of it in print and textiles. I created the original static HTML site back in 1995. Unfortunately, I am not as actively involved in the current websites as I would like to be. There are a lot of improvements I would like to make including stepping back from the Flash based site model and improving both the Information Architecture and User Interface. Regardless, much of the image work and image manipulation on these sites is my work, and more examples of this can be seen in the print examples of my portfolio that are shown below.

  • Extra-curricular:
I am a regular contributor of content including writing, photos and movies to these sites:
